Our client is a leading Utilities firm looking to hire Business Analysts for 1-year hybrid contract.

Your new role

Document Business Requirements & Create Process Maps:

  • Gather and document detail business/technical requirements using structured techniques and methodologies
  • Facilitate review sessions with functional owners and end-user representatives
  • Work with IT and other business units to validate the business requirements as well as current state processes
  • Create and present functional and/or technical designs including data analysis to business and/or technical teams, and gather feedback to influence solution design and approach
  • Work with technical and non-technical teams to document current and future states of business processes, analyze gaps, identify risks and opportunities
  • Prepare process maps using MS Visio and MS PowerPoint

Project Management

  • Proactively update the Project Lead and Project Manager on the status of tasks and timelines
  • Accountable for the timely delivery of projects as per established roadmaps by working closely with the business teams
  • Participate in end-to-end implementation planning including, issue management, communication and change management

Presentation Slides & Training

  • Prepare business presentations and reports in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Prepare training documentation

Test – User Acceptance Testing

  • Create and execute functional test cases
  • Manage and coordinate UAT testing with end users, including obtaining user acceptance signoff

Continuous Improvements

  • Research and identify industry trends (relative to scope of responsibility), leveraging ideas to improve or better align IT systems and services

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Education Required: College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (minimum).
  • CBAP certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preparing as-is process documentation, to-be process documentation, and performing detailed gap analysis.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about exploring new solutions.
  • Solid understanding of business process modeling techniques, requirements elicitation methods, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Result-oriented with the ability to deliver quality results in a timely manner.
  • Previous experience with gathering, validating, and documenting detailed business requirements and design elements.
  • Effective communication skills tailored to the appropriate audience (both verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with the full cycle BA process.
  • Proficiency in reporting and testing logical reporting.
  • Ability to train and present new solutions to employees.
  • Familiarity with dashboards, ideally using Oracle
  • The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with the entire business analysis process. This includes gathering data, analyzing it, testing solutions, presenting findings, and training employees on launched solutions.
  • Practical testing experience—either directly conducting tests or supporting QA teams.
  • Strong understanding on the entire BA process, from inception to implementation.
  • Experience training employees on new BA solutions is a must.
  • Proficiency in gathering documents at the outset of the BA process.
